Woman Dies Following Dog Attack in Wolverhampton
A 70-year-old woman lost her life after being attacked by two dogs at a residence in Wolverhampton. Emergency responders were called to Willis Pearson Avenue in the Bilston area around 23:30 BST on Wednesday following reports of a woman sustaining injuries.
She succumbed to her injuries on the spot, according to West Midlands Police. The animals remained aggressive toward responders even after the incident, the force added.
The dogs, which were not thought to belong to a banned breed, were subsequently destroyed. A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to control his dogs, resulting in a fatal injury. He was hospitalized with hand wounds.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident. The probe is in its early stages as they work to uncover the sequence of events. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to reach out to West Midlands Police.
