Two Inpatients Following A9 Bus Incident Near Aviemore

A bus plummeted from a roadside embankment on the A9, north of Aviemore, prompting immediate medical attention for two individuals. The accident occurred shortly after 9:40 on Sunday, leading to a significant emergency operation involving multiple agencies. Firefighters, paramedics, and police swiftly responded to the scene, which was located near Granish Junction.

According to Police Scotland, the two passengers were transported to a hospital for evaluation, though specifics regarding their injuries were not disclosed. The vehicle in question was an electric bus operated by Ember, en route from Inverness to Edinburgh. The A9 remained closed for approximately two hours before reopening to traffic.

Visuals captured at the site revealed the large turquoise bus partially lodged on a grassy slope, with several emergency workers actively managing the situation. An Ember representative confirmed the incident took place on 12 April, stating it was a single-vehicle collision. They emphasized gratitude toward the emergency services for their prompt assistance and pledged support for ongoing police inquiries.

“We extend our thanks to the emergency services for their swift response, and we are fully cooperating with the police’s investigation,” said the spokesperson.
