Ice Cube and ‘War of the Worlds’ top the Razzies
The 46th Razzie Awards have unveiled their results, with a single film claiming multiple of the most dubious honors. The 2025 remake of “War of the Worlds” dominated the ceremony, securing wins in categories such as worst picture, worst remake/rip-off sequel, worst screenplay, worst director, and worst actor, which went to Ice Cube. This year’s ceremony, held in conjunction with the Oscars, followed the usual tradition of being announced the day prior to the Academy Awards.
Razzies: A Joke on Mediocrity
The Golden Raspberry Awards, known as the Razzies, take a tongue-in-cheek approach to cinema by handing out awards for those films that are, shall we say, viewed as less than stellar.
While the Razzies mock poor filmmaking, they do so with a satirical flair, spotlighting the year’s most glaring cinematic missteps. The 2025 iteration of “War of the Worlds” not only captured the worst picture title but also faced stiff competition from other contenders, including “Disney’s Snow White,” which received the worst screen combo award for its CGI dwarfs.
